There are few times during the year that draw such pure anticipation as much as the Christmas season does. Gifts slowly begin to appear under brightly lit and decorated trees, as the smell of fresh pines and snow (when your area is not experiencing record highs) fills the air. Cookies are baked and decorated with a variety of icings and candy sprinkles. Holiday meals are planned and families begin to ready their homes for seasonal guests. It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
As I watch the gifts accumulate under the tree, it feels really great to give to my family this year. I actually have the finances to procure plenty of gifts. In the past, money was tight due to little compensation and the expenses of college, so it always felt as though I was never giving enough. Now, however, I have been able to spoil my favorite people and it has felt better than ever. It truly is better to give than receive.
My excitement for the season is brimming with anticipation and the urge to share my Christmas joy.
Happy Holidays to all.
